Nursing Instructor: Position number 50006070

This a 9-month full-time position in the Practical Nursing Program. This position starts immediately. This instructor position reports directly to the Health Science Program Coordinator and is formally supervised by Traviss Administration. The chosen candidate will be an active faculty member of the accredited PN program and may be assigned other duties based on the needs of the program.

Key responsibilities consist of: • Provide both didactic and clinical instruction in the PN program • Maintain positive relationships and active collaborations with the major clinical/community serving the PN program. • Demonstrate collaboration, and support for program excellence. • Provide guiding and mentoring for students to further student success • Engage in professional and community service • Contribute to ongoing curriculum and program improvements • Participate in faculty governance through service on Program, and College committees The practical nursing instructor curriculum plan documents clinical experience and theoretical instruction in medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, psychiatric nursing, and geriatric nursing. Each curriculum plan must document clinical training experience in appropriate settings that include, but are not limited to, acute care, long-term care, and community settings.

The practical nursing instructor must hold an active Florida registered nursing licensure with 2 years experiences and a bachelor’s degree in nursing. The educational degree requirements may be documented by an official transcript from the educational institution verifying that the institution conferred the degree.
